Hi, Iām Emily.
I believe that healing happens in supportive relationships which is why I focus on building a strong, trusting connection with my clients. My goal is to create a space where you can listen to your own inner wisdom and make decisions from a place of clarity and confidence. My style is curious and non-judgmental. I am not afraid to challenge my clients to try on new perspectives and ask difficult questions. I love to help my clients recognize and build upon their strengths.
I have experience supporting people through short and long term difficulties including:
Anxiety
Depression
Career
Emotional Regulation
Life Purpose
Life Transitions
Parenting
PTSD
Relationship Conflicts / Relationship Issues
Stress
Trauma
In addition to earning my Masters in Counseling Psychology and Masters in Education, I have completed intensive trainings in the following modalities:
PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy - Level 1 & 2)
AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy)
Gestalt
Non-Violent Communication
My orientation to therapy is also influenced by personal experience with wilderness and horticulture therapy, mindfulness and somatic therapies. I bring a multicultural and systemic lens to all that I do. I live in Durango and in my free time I enjoy reading novels, exploring the mountains and appreciating the natural wonders of Colorado and beyond.
